Director of Development and Strategic Engagement
Scott Bean came to Grassroots Midwest in 2019 after having spent 22 years on staff in the Michigan Legislature. Most recently, he worked in the Michigan Senate for 12 years, the last five as Chief of Staff for a State Senator from Macomb County. Before that he served as Director of the Senate Majority Communications Office, Director of the Senate Republican Campaign Committee, Deputy Chief of Staff for the Senate Majority Leader, and as Chief of Staff in a Senate office. Prior to that, Scott worked in the Michigan House of Representatives in several roles, including leadership staff positions. He has managed and overseen several targeted state senate and house campaigns throughout that time.
Born and raised in Oakland County, Scott received his B.A. in communications from Oakland University. He serves on the Executive Board of the Michigan Political History Society and previously served as Vice-President of the group for several years. Scott lives in Lansing and is an unapologetic nerd. He’s passionate about history, travel and having adventures near and far. Fun fact: He has visited the graves of 21 U.S. presidents and 28 Michigan governors.
Reach out to Scott.
